“Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen.” Ephesians 3:20,21.
The saint is called into a posture of funneling glory back to God by their partnership with Christ. The saint comes under a power which is abundantly greater than our conceptions and then by the filling of the saint with Christ, the saint becomes gloriously full to the fullness of God (3:19). This state of fullness of the life of God allows the glory of God to be sent out and returned to God by the partnership of Christ and the church together. This status of channeling glory back to God is going to last forever and ever, and requires the inner Spirit, the indwelling Son and the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge. The saint receives these elements of Spirit, Son and love, and are then filled to fullness with the glorious God.
God is going to use the temple church as a light bulb for his nature for all eternity. Consider that the New Jerusalem, the bride, will be transparent as glass.
We are missing 2 verses to complete this calling.
The aim is outward, specifically to the heavenly beings like angels:
“so that the manifold wisdom of God might now be made known through the church to the rulers and the authorities in the heavenly places.” Eph. 3:10
Filling all the angels with himself is the goal of the work of Christ through the church:
“He who descended is Himself also He who ascended far above all the heavens, so that He might fill all things.” Eph. 4:10.
The church is the fullness of God and the benefactor is the angels of God. The families of earth are specially appointed to bless the families of heaven with the fullness of God.
What do we say to this? “Help me walk worthy of the calling to which I have been called!”
