Headship matters, so Satan moved to muddle it

by Daniel Mastrolonardo

“First apostles, then prophets, then teachers…” 1 Cor. 12

Teachers are not in charge of the church, they are not the leaders. Scholars, academics, university presidents, large ministry heads, and seminary professors are not the leaders of the church. Apostles and prophets are. It is their ministry which brings about order and completion of the maturity of the body of Christ. If the teachers are not being ministered to by the apostles and prophets then their people are not. And if the people are not being completed the body of Christ is not being completed. And we remain in the holding pattern of Christianity for another few decades.

You know you are in the right flow of biblical headship when the identity and validity of the apostles and prophets are being hotly debated among the churches. Who is genuinely whom is being contested and there is no peace. This warfare proves Satanic dissatisfaction with the way of God. He must intervene with division and distraction and devaluation of the order of God. Should Biblical headship be restored to the church the body would be assembled quickly, holiness would be completed and the end of the age could come presently. Satan cannot suffer this defeat, so his first move is to question the correct authorized parties, and his second move is to question the office entirely. Since the bulk of the church of evangelicalism does not accept apostles and prophets at all, Satan has done the work already. Among the portions that accept apostles and prophets, since these ones do not know how to complete the people, and don’t perceive completion of the fullness of a mature body as their ministry, this body is lost to Satan also. Most of these apostles and prophets are glorified evangelists. But the true apostles and prophets are the wise master builders, able to unite people in Christ, not motivate people for ministry or evangelism. They are able to speak of Christ, not ministry. Christ, not experiences in the revelatory realm. Christ from the Scriptures, Christ in a crucified body as Galatians speaks of, Christ the life, not Christ the miracle worker only. The modern apostle and prophet makes their bread on encouraging saints into miracles, signs and wonders and experiences. They have no other platform or ministry. This charlatanism is the bath water which must be thrown out, but the proverbial baby must be preserved: there is no building without the ministers to build apostles and prophets, and there is no Bible verse to discredit that point.
