“…the house was finished throughout all its parts and according to all its plans. So he was seven years in building it.” 1 Kings 6:38.
The house of God, the glorious ultimate dwelling place of God among men took exactly 7 years to build. It took seven years to assemble the stones and materials, and begin to put them together. The different living stones had to be cut in the outer places of Israel but then quietly assembled in the location of their purpose. They fit together perfectly with the cornerstone and were girded and framed with the decorations fit for their station. The house of God was covered in gold and carved with the ornate beauty of their place, be it a capital, a beam, or a wall piece. Everything was given extra beauty and placed perfectly to form the most glorious temple ever built.
The end of the age is 7 years. It is the assembly of the spirits of the righteous ones made perfect. It begins with a few years of cutting and cleaning outside the holy mountain, and then the assembly occurs in private for another 3.5 years. There they are assembled into a single building indwelled by God on the earth in glory and splendor.
The selection time of stones and the carving time of stones is like the maidens who had enough oil to make it to the end together. The time to gather oil must occur before the assembly period. That means we must be getting ready before it is time to get ready. We must submit to the carving and cutting season. Readiness occurs when we don’t have to get ready. As Jesus said we should be ready, we must ready ourselves for an assembly that will come when we are not expecting it. Final thought. The house is not the courtyard. One is bronze, one is gold. One is a house, and one is a courtyard in the comfort of a walled space. But the courtyard is not the house. We would seek to be the house and move on from the outer court. The lights are all inside.
